Saint Vincent de Paul members will be at the doors of St. Joseph's and Immaculate Conception churches this weekend after masses, collecting donations.
Monday, February 3rd is the Feast of St. Blaise. The Roman Catholic Church holds a beautiful tradition of blessing throats on this Feast Day, which we are transferring to our Tuesday evening Mass on February 4th. Traditionally, Saint Blaise is invoked for protection against injuries and illnesses of the throat. Two candles are held in the form of a cross by a priest on the throats or over the heads of the faithful. At the same time the following blessing is given: "Through the intercession of Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr, may God deliver you from every disease of the throat and from every other illness". Then the priest makes the sign of the cross over the faithful. All are welcome to receive this blessing and be a part of this historic tradition!
This is the last weekend to pick up your envelopes. They will then be taken to the Parish office.
